Single-axis servo-driven traverse robots ATA/ATAII series
become applicable to a production
monitoring package "Mold Mate".
|

Yushin
has newly added a function applicable to "Mold Mate" to the options
of the single-axis servo-driven traverse robots (Note) named "AIRLINER
ATA/ATAII series". Mold Mate, a production monitoring package for
plastics molding plants, was first released in March 2003. For a
further sales promotion of AIRLINER ATA/ATAII series robots, Yushin
has made them accessible to Mold Mate this time. Yushin starts to
take orders from 13th September, 2004. Yushin is the dedicated supplier
of take-out robots for injection molding machines, carrying the
motto "Heartful Technology" (President Mayumi Kotani, headquarters
in Kyoto City, capital of 1.98566 billion yen).
This additional function unites Mold Mate with G-type controller,
a standard controller of ATA/ATAII series robots. In a conventional
way, the interface unit was needed to monitor ATA/ATAII series robots
by Mold Mate. However, by release of the new function, the increase
in introduction of Mold Mate is expected, since the separate interface
unit is not required.
In consideration of use at overseas factories, a display language
can be selected from Japanese, English, and Chinese (optional).
Mold Mate is available not only for the customers who newly order
ATA/ATAII series robots, but also for those who wish to add the
function of Mold Mate on the series of robots purchased before.
For these customers, Yushin offers to replace their controller with
the new one.

| The difference between the ATA and the ATAII series
is types of the vertical arm. The ATA series have 1-stage non-telescopic
vertical arm, whereas the ATAII series have 2-stage vertical arm,
which is designed for low ceiling clearance facilities. |

| Mold Mate is suitable for those who introduce production
monitoring package using personal computer for the first time, since
it holds down the initial expenses. It requires no dedicated terminal.
It is the cost-effective production monitoring package that enables
customers to intensively monitor all molding machines using their
own personal computers. This package improves the work efficiency
by monitoring distant production state real-time using Internet or
LAN and by adopting camera images for operation monitoring. |

Conventionally, it was difficult to track the current
production state before all daily production reports written by each
operator (*1) are collected and analyzed. By introductory of Mold
Mate, accurate information is sent immediately through Internet and
LAN from remote production plants to the office. Sales engineers can
easily change their business strategy referring to latest information. |

as 24 hours factory operation is assumed. |

In the conventional way, it often happened that daily reports differ
from actual production figures. Maximum production capacities of each
molding machine were unclear. However, this package automatically
collects and totals production/operation results without human task.
This prevents human errors such as incorrect data entry, data omission
and incorrect calculation. By grasping accurate production capacities
of each molding machine, customers can define the target value for
further improvement. |

(3)Streamlining of indirect tasks

Totaling of daily reports required an enormous amount of time and
labor. Mistakes occurred in such indirect tasks. Mold Mate allows
customers to collect data accurately and reduce much time and labor
required for writing daily operation reports and inputting data. Data
can be saved in a CSV (*1) type file so that the data can be transformed
into Microsoft Excel and Access. |

as a file and is mainly used for the exchange of the file between
applications. |

(4)For all types of injection molding machines and take-out
robots |

Even in the case of a plant in which there are injection molding
machines made by several companies or other brand's take-out robots,
they can all be linked to the network for production monitoring. |
