Head office has opened a new factory for small and medium size take-out robots

Yushin Precision Equipment Co., Ltd. has recently opened "5th factory", which is for small and medium take-out robots, and has just started operation at this factory from January 5th. Yushin is the dedicated supplier of take-out robots for injection molding machines, carrying the motto "Heartful Technology" (President Mayumi Kotani, headquarters in Kyoto City, capital of 1.98566 billion yen).

There were two main reasons for the construction of the new factory. Firstly, with thriving injection molding machine industry, orders for small and medium size take-out robots had been increased considerably and Yushin has been receiving more orders than their capacity with their plants. Secondly, the "OJT project II"(*) agreed with efficacy of the new factory, in view of the theme it carried; improvement in production process and review of factory layout.

The total floor space of the 5th factory is 872.17 square meters. The factory is used for running test, shipment test and shipment operation of small and medium size take-out robots. The new factory is large enough to test 32 robots at maximum, which reduces 37% of testing operation process.
Moreover, Yushin anticipates that the new factory contributes to shorten 17% of lead time between acceptance of an order and shipment. As a result, capacity of whole plants is expected to increase 1.5 times compared to their past productivity.

The total construction cost was approximately 2 hundred million yen.


(*)OJT project II: The project team called "OJT project" was first set up to promote rationalization of the production side in August 2003, under the direct guidance of "OJT solutions Co., Ltd.". OJT solutions Co., Ltd. is a company which has set up for innovation in production for a number of companies under Toyota method called "Kaizan". Yushin had drastically reviewed the situation of their production side, which produced some fruits by November in that year. Yet, for more improvement, the project had been promoted to "OJT project II", and then completed its missions in August 2004.
