Yushin Redefines High-Speed Take-Out
with Release of New Side-Entry Robot

TSXAYushin Precision Equipment today announced the release of the new “TSXA” model of high-speed side-entry take-out robot.  The TSXA, featuring the world-class take-out time of 0.21 second, becomes available for order on March 1st.  Yushin Precision Equipment carries the motto of “Heartful Technology,” and is a dedicated supplier of take-out robots for injection molding machines (based in Kyoto, Japan; President Mayumi Kotani; 1.986 billion yen capital)

The TSXA is a side-entry robot* that embodies all-new concepts in its traverse frame and robot body.  It is designed to fit injection molding machines of 100-300 tons of clamping force.

The TSXA is second in Yushin’s series of high-speed take-out robots with superior production value, sharing the same concept as the recently-released HSA robot model.  Yushin engineers employed the cutting-edge process of design optimization** to optimize the TSXA’s form for high-speed operation and compatibility with other auxiliary molding equipment.

The TSXA features the following three merits:
1) High-Speed Operation
The main body of the TSXA is a telescopic design that uses two motors simultaneously to multiply the arm speed.  The TSXA’s take-out speed of 0.21 second is 25% faster than that of its predecessor, Yushin’s SX-21 robot.

2) Greater Compatibility with Molder’s Production Line and Downstream Equipment
The revolutionary design of the TSXA’s traverse frame shatters convention by allowing the robot’s work envelope to be set anywhere from 1,500mm to 4,000mm (the best range in the industry).  Also, the TSXA’s vertical profile as measured from the mounting surface is 60% lower than the previous model (SX-21).  This reduced height permits the TSXA’s use in low-ceiling plants, while its extendable arm can more easily partner with conveyors or other downstream equipment.

3) Integrated Controls
With convenient functions such as a 3-D robot simulator and a motion flowchart screen, the E-touch II-K controller of the TSXA delivers greater ease of operation.  Operators will appreciate that the E-touch II-K controls not just the robot, but also the optional hand-off station*** which receives molded products from the TSXA.  These unified controls allow users to more easily manage their molding lines.

List price for the new TSXA robot is JPY 7,950,000 (tax not included).  Yushin Precision Equipment expects to ship approximately 60 units in its first year of production.

[NOTES]
* Side-Entry Robot
Most conventional take-out robots are “top-entry,” with a vertical arm that enters the mold area from atop the molding machine.  Side-entry take-out robots enter the mold horizontally (from the side, which is at closer proximity) in order to take molded products out more rapidly.

** Design Optimization
Design Optimization is what Yushin calls the practice of applying CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) to seek the most theoretically optimal form for a robot based on its mechanism and motions.  Recently, this new approach has started to be used to design lighter weight and higher reliability into car parts, aircraft, and other demanding applications.

*** Hand-off Station
Side-entry applications that prioritize high-speed product take-out will require a hand-off station (available as an option), an automated unit which receives products removed from the mold by the robot.  Until the TSXA, the robot and hand-off station were operated by separate control systems.
