FRA：High-End Take-out Robots
Robots that have the future interests of the molding industry in mind
It used to be a dream that vast numbers of people could use the same product and similarly enjoy the same benefits. Then, plastic engineering miraculously made that happen. Since the advent of injection molding, industry has incessantly pursued better products of better quality at a faster clip.
The merits of injection molding have been amplified by the take-out robot.
But, molding plants have never been without issues – highly complicated products, small lot wide variety production, labor shortages and inherent dangers of the workplace -- to name a few.
Yushin’s purpose is to make robots that help solve these issues. Moreover, Yushin goes another step further by making robots that have the future interests of the molding industry in mind.
That mindset spawned the FRA series.
SAFETYCompliant with the most stringent international safety regulations as a standard feature
 Safety circuits
There is no compromising at Yushin when it comes to safety. As the bottom-line, redundant safety circuits maintain functional capacity in the unlikely event that a primary circuit goes down.
 Speed monitoring
Robot movements are monitored during teaching so that safe speeds are not exceeded and jobs can be performed safely.
 Compliant with international safety standards
Our FRA robots qualify as Safety Category 3 devices under EN/ISO 12100, EN 60204 and EN/ISO 10218, and comply with safety requirements under CE, GB and KCs.
CONTROLVibration control translates into gained time.
 Active Vibration Control (Patent pending)
Active Vibration Control enables molding to advance at high-speed without being stopped by take-out errors. Moreover, when working with a heavy EOAT or extending a vertical arm, it prevents increases in vibration settling time, which translates into greatly shortened cycle times.
 Arc Motion Control
Arc Motion Control gives FRA robots what conventional orthogonal robots do not have -- the ability to move smoothly and swiftly along axes in an arching motion. Since vibrations do not increase as a result, Arc Motion Control helps to shorten cycle times.
 Adaptive Motion Control
Adaptive Motion Control automatically optimizes robot motions to ensure smooth transition and create the best conditions for molded products during changes in stroke that occur at gate cutting, workpiece insertion, product releasing and other positions in the cycle.
 Jerk Filter
The Jerk Filter dampens vibrations during sudden braking in order to keep robot movements smooth. It works on the same principle as a car brake when the driver eases off the brake pedal the moment before the car stops, in order to lessen the impact.
YUSHIN IoTAnother step closer to “no downtime”
INTU LINE IoT service (Patent pending)
Included with every FRA robot, this software application gives users immediate intuitive control over their new robot on the very same day it is installed.
 Production monitoring
Intu Line displays production counts, uptime ratios, operating statuses, cycle times, error tallies, short stoppage logs and visuals of production floors, which users can easily view anytime, anywhere from a smartphone or PC. It visualizes molding operations in terms of short stoppage frequency and duration, which was difficult to grasp before.
If trouble occurs, Intu Line shares the customer’s error information with Yushin over an IoT system. It’s like having a Yushin service rep on-site as customers are spared the hassles of explaining what happened, which logically leads to quicker solutions.
DESIGNShorter cycle times
3D optimally designed kick frame (Patent pending)
Owing to Yushin’s Design Optimization efforts, the FRA robots are lighter in weight and, by virtue thereof, faster-moving, all the while maintaining the repeatability that made earlier models industry favorites.
 Lightweight body
Design Optimization has reduced the mass of moving parts by 16% from predecessor models. Compared to before, cycle times are a maximum 10% shorter on the whole and take-out cycles shorter by as much as 29%.
EXTENSIONRobots prepared for future changes
 Robot language embedded
In addition to Lead-through Teaching and Flexible Teaching, the FRA robots come with robot language that is widely demanded around the world. The emphasis of language support has been placed on future versatility so that customers can use their robots for many years to come.
 Downstream interlocking
FRA robots can control downstream processes over general-purpose communication protocols like DeviceNet, EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP. With post-molding inspections, assembly and other value-adding processing increasing, inline communications will help customers enhance the added-value of their molded products going forward. Moreover, the FRA series already supports PNP/NPN, therefore these robots can easily connect to peripherals made by Western manufacturers.
 Flexible Teaching
Flexible Teaching is an easy-to-use programming application that enables users to create and edit (interlocks, error processing settings, etc.) robot operation programs from a PC, using just flowcharts. There is no complicated programming. It gives users the means for managing both current resources and future equipment changes themselves.

New Slim NC Servo Wrist UnitA great attachment for enhancing the efficiency of already automated processes
 50% slimmer
After a new design and extensive structural revamping, this NC Servo Wrist Unit is 50% thinner than earlier Yushin models.
 Easy adjustment
Complicated tasks like pulling out molded parts with undercuts or taking out molded parts from the stationary side of mold can be tuned just by teaching from a controller.
 Flexible operation
Including the take-out robot arms, a maximum of 8 axes (take-out robot x 5 + NC Servo Wrist Unit x 3) can be controlled. This makes it easier to interlock with downstream equipment.
 Practical variations to choose from
3-axis type: Servo-driven (Vertical rotation + Wrist flip + Horizontal rotation)
2-axis type: Servo-driven (Vertical rotation + Wrist flip) / Servo-driven (Wrist flip + Horizontal rotation)/ Servo-driven horizontal rotation + Pneumatic wrist flip
1-axis type: Servo-driven wrist flip
